Road accidents are the main cause of young peoples' death. Each day over 1000 young people die on the roads of the entire world and several thousands get injured. This is why the European Commission organised for the fourth time the European Youth Forum for Road Safety, expressing that way the acceptance of the so far taken actions, but first of all seeking new solutions to reduce the number and seriousness of the accidents.

The meeting has been officially inaugurated by Mrs Izabelle Kardacz, the head of the Road Traffic Safety Section at the European Commission, who presented the directions of the European Road Traffic Safety policy for the years 2011-2020. Motor Transport Institute was represented by Mr Michał Kopacki, who presented the Institute as a leading centre for the RTS dedicated actions in Poland.
