New Deputy Director of the Motor Transport Institute

Pursuant to Article 27(1) of the Act of 30 April 2010 on Research Institutes (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 534, as amended), as of 1 January 2026, at the request of the Director of the Motor Transport Institute, the Minister of Infrastructure, Mr Dariusz Klimczak, appointed Dr Eng. Piotr Wiśniowski as Deputy Director of the Motor Transport Institute.

Dr Eng. Piotr Wiśniowski is a graduate of the Faculty of Automotive and Construction Machinery Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology. He obtained his doctoral degree at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Lublin University of Technology.

He is a recognised expert in the field of exhaust emissions testing (including real-driving conditions), research on electric vehicles and vehicles powered by alternative fuels, vehicle diagnostics, and diagnostic equipment used at vehicle inspection stations. He is the author of more than 30 publications and a co-author of a patent concerning the reproduction of road traffic conditions on a chassis dynamometer.

He has been professionally associated with the Motor Transport Institute since 2008. From 2022, he served as Head of the ITS Environmental Protection Centre.

Dr Eng. Piotr Wiśniowski is a long-standing member of the ITS Scientific Council.

He currently serves as Chair of the Warsaw Committee of the Polish Scientific and Technical Society for Maintenance Engineering, Chair of the Technical Subcommittee for Transport Systems of the Polish Committee for Standardization, a member of the Technical Committee for the Digitisation of Road and Bridge Infrastructure for Models and Standards operating under the Minister of Infrastructure, and a member of the Polish Scientific Society of Combustion Engines.
