Congress "Science for Society"
The 4th Congress "Science for Society" began on June 12, 2026, with a poster session at Krakowskie Przedmieście 26/28 and in front of the Old Library of the University of Warsaw. An exhibition showcasing the most important achievements and implementations of research and scientific institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences and universities was opened in the public space. The event was co-organized by the Motor Transport Institute (ITS).
On Sunday, June 14, 2026, the congress began in the Old Library of the University of Warsaw, and on June 15, scientific sessions and a debate between directors and research institutes were held. The two days also included expert meetings, presentations of research results from research institutes, demonstrations of implementations, and an exhibition of achievements from research institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences and universities.
The Congress once again brought together outstanding scientists, explorers, and science enthusiasts. The event was broadcast live (online), and the recording was made available online. For all those interested in science in Poland, the activities of Polish scientific and research institutions, and their implementations.
The Congress is a unique opportunity to promote Polish science and its most important implementation achievements, which have a real impact on the development of society, the economy, and innovation in our country. It is also an opportunity to meet and exchange experiences, ideas, and plans related to the practice, development, and application of science.
As in previous editions, the Motor Transport Institute was also represented during the 4th Congress. The ITS's involvement was evident both at the organizational and substantive levels. The Institute's management once again participated in the event's preparations, and the Scientific Committee included, among others, Prof. Marcin Ślęzak, Ph.D., DSc, Eng., and Dr. Piotr Wiśniowski, Professor of ITS. Prof. Ślęzak moderated the session and actively participated in the panel discussion of directors and rectors.
The program portion was equally impressive, with ITS researchers presenting the Institute's latest solutions and projects. Presentations included, among others, presentations by Dr. Beata Stasiak-Cieślak, Dr. Aneta Wnuk, and Dr. Piotr Malawko presented the innovative proMOVE attachment, which supports people using orthopedic crutches, as well as a presentation by Anna Górska, M.A., and Dr. Aneta Wnuk, presenting the ABC Road Safety educational package for students with visual impairments. Both projects generated significant interest from attendees, demonstrating the practical dimension of research conducted at the Institute.
The ITS presentation was complemented by a poster session, which showcased, among other things, the work of the ITS Environmental Protection Center team – the national center for vehicle emissions and alternative fuels research. Posters on proMOVE and ABC Road Safety were also featured, creating a coherent presentation of the areas in which the Institute is developing innovations: from road safety, through mobility technologies, to environmental research.
